Poultry

The Challenge

A high-throughput poultry processing facility generated process water carrying a heavy organic load, thick with fats, oils and grease, and arriving in shift-driven surges rather than a steady flow.

That stream had to be brought all the way to a quality safe for irrigation reuse, consistently, across a full production day, without becoming a full-time job for the site maintenance team.

The Solution

  • Screening.
Gross solids removed at the head of the works before they reach downstream equipment.
  • Equalisation.
Buffers the shift profile so the plant sees a consistent flow and load instead of the facility’s peaks.
  • Dissolved Air Flotation.
In-house chemical formulation stripping FOG and suspended solids, removing 91% of the organic load before biology.
  • Three-Stage Biological Dams.
Residual soluble organics broken down through the series to final irrigation quality.
